Staff Accountant

Our local accounting firm is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Tax Preparer/Bookkeeper to assist with the tax preparation and bookkeeping for our clients. This is a year-round position with full -time for the first 4 months of the year and part-time hours for the remainder of the year.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

• Prepare individual and business tax returns
• Review client documents and organize information needed for tax preparation
• Perform bookkeeping, including recording transactions and reconciling bank and credit card accounts
• Communicate with clients to obtain missing information and answers to routine questions
• Support and participate in firm initiatives, build positive client relationships, gain knowledge and skills in area of client industries served
• Manage deadlines and maintain confidentiality of client information

Education and Experience

• Previous tax preparation and bookkeeping experience preferred
• Minimum of an Associates degree in accounting or finance or pursuing preferred
• Familiarity with QuickBooks and professional tax preparation software; experience with CCH Axcess is a plus
• Excellent analytical, organization and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and communicate professionally with clients and coworkers
• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities, deadlines, and commitments.
• Attention to detail and the desire to provide quality client service on every assignment.

Pay: From $30.00 per hour
