Staff Electrical Engineer

Electrical Engineer – Data Centers | Contract

$83–$98 per hour | Multiple US locations | Onsite

We’re partnering with a global engineering consultancy to hire two Electrical Engineers to support large-scale data center design projects. Opportunities are available at two experience levels, with scope to take on design leadership and mentoring responsibilities.

The opportunity

• Approximately six-month contract, starting October 1, 2026 onwards and running through April 1, 2027.
• Hourly rates of $83 or $98 , depending on the position and experience.
• 40 hours per week: eight hours per day, Monday–Friday.
• Fully onsite, five days per week.
• Potential to transition into a permanent position.

What you’ll be doing

• Delivering detailed electrical designs for large-scale data center facilities.
• Preparing and reviewing technical drawings, models, calculations and engineering studies.
• Assessing design risks around redundancy, resiliency and critical power infrastructure.
• Conducting field surveys and evaluating existing facilities.
• Coordinating with clients and multidisciplinary teams to define requirements and resolve design challenges.
• Ensuring designs meet applicable codes, specifications, budgets and schedules.
• Providing guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and designers, depending on experience.

What we’re looking for

• Electrical engineering experience with a strong background in electrical design.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit and BIM workflows .
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and client communication skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and work through evolving project requirements.
• Previous data center or mission-critical experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with hyperscale, edge or colocation facilities, critical power redundancy and data center tier ratings would be advantageous.
• Experience with BIM 360, Navisworks and advanced Revit modelling is a plus.

Applicants must currently live within 50 miles of one of the listed offices and be able to work onsite five days per week.
