Staff Electrical Engineer

Well financed medical device, startup is seeking a hands-on Staff Electrical Engineer to own electrical and firmware development for our next-generation ureteroscopic platform.

This is a senior individual contributor role for an engineer who still wants to design, build, test, and debug at the bench, while taking broader ownership of the external partners and regulatory testing required to bring a complex medical device to market.

Key Responsibilities

• Own electrical and embedded system design, development, and integration
• Design and review schematics, PCB layouts, and firmware architectures
• Develop and debug embedded firmware using C/C++, RTOS, and microcontrollers
• Drive hardware/firmware integration, troubleshooting, and V&V
• Lead electrical safety, EMC, cybersecurity, and regulatory testing
• Manage external test labs, contract manufacturers, suppliers, and engineering consultants
• Support Design Transfer and manufacturing scale-up
• Partner with Quality, Regulatory, Clinical, and Operations throughout development

Qualifications

• Hands-on medical device or embedded systems development experience
• Strong PCB design, system integration, testing, and debugging experience
• Experience with IEC 60601, IEC 62304, FDA requirements, and ISO 13485
• Experience managing outside test labs, contract developers, suppliers, and/or contract manufacturers
