Staff Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Staff Engineer to provide technical leadership, solve complex challenges and influence the future platform direction.
This is a senior individual contributor position, not a people management role. You'll be the technical leader engineers turn to for guidance, helping shape architecture, influence engineering decisions and raise standards across multiple teams while remaining hands-on with design and development.
 
What you'll do

• Provide technical leadership across engineering teams and drive engineering quality
• Design and build scalable solutions across backend services, APIs and customer-facing applications
• Solve complex technical challenges and influence platform architecture
• Lead technical discussions, design reviews and code reviews
• Mentor engineers and help lift capability across the wider engineering function
• Partner with Product, Engineering and Architecture leaders to deliver high-quality outcomes at scale

What you'll bring

• Strong commercial experience with C#/.NET development
• Deep AWS experience, ideally with serverless architectures
• Strong API design and distributed systems expertise
• Experience with DynamoDB or other NoSQL databases
• Excellent technical leadership and stakeholder engagement skills
• Solid understanding of software design principles
• A passion for mentoring others and improving engineering best practices
• Experience with TypeScript, CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code is advantageous
• Exposure to F# or functional programming concepts would be highly beneficial
