What they need
Job Purpose
The EOL Unit Process Development Engineer is responsible for leading process development activities for the End-of-Line assembly segment. This role focuses on executing process parameter scouting, optimization, validation, and process freeze during the development phases of new projects. The ultimate goal is to ensure all NPI projects achieve target timelines, stringent quality standards, cost competitiveness, and seamless volume manufacturability.
Key Responsibilities
- Process Development & Optimization: Execute robust process development activities for EOL unit operations. Perform parameter scouting, window optimization, and verification runs to achieve process stability.
- Process Freeze & Standardization: Establish and lock optimal baseline process parameters (Process Freeze). Define specifications, and document standard operating procedures (SOP) and FMEAs prior to mass production hand-over.
- New Product Introduction (NPI): Partner with cross-functional project teams to seamlessly transfer new packaging technologies and products from development phase into high-volume manufacturing (HVM).
- Data-Driven Problem Solving: Utilize advanced statistical analysis tools and methodologies (e.g., DOE, SPC, ANOVA) to analyze engineering data, root-cause process anomalies, and maximize yield.
- Machine Operation & Evaluation: Hands-on operation and configuration of advanced EOL manufacturing equipment to evaluate machine capabilities, tooling, and materials.
- Project Management Alignment: Ensure all assigned process development milestones meet strict project targets regarding timelines, product quality, budget constraints, and manufacturability criteria.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering, preferably in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Microelectronics, Mechatronics, or a related technical discipline.
- Experience: 5 to 10 years of solid engineering experience in Semiconductor EOL Assembly processes (e.g., Laser Marking, Singulation/Dicing, Trim & Form, Vision Inspection/AOI, Tape & Reel) and NPI execution.
- Technical Skills: Proven ability to operate, program, and troubleshoot EOL equipment. Strong understanding of leadframe/substrate packaging technologies.
- Analytical Skills: Excellent data analysis capabilities. High proficiency in statistical software (e.g., Minitab, JMP) and structural problem-solving tools (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone).
- Soft Skills: Strong project ownership, analytical thinking, and good interpersonal communication skills to collaborate with global project teams.
- Language: Good command of spoken and written English.
