Staff Machine Learning Engineer, App Ads Modeling

For our client, we are seeking a Staff Machine Learning Engineer, App Ads Modeling to join the team of a leader in the Media space.

This role will focus on advancing large-scale machine learning capabilities that improve ad relevance and ranking performance within a high-traffic digital media environment. You will design and train sophisticated models, work closely with product and infrastructure partners to bring solutions into production, and help shape the long-term modeling strategy across multiple areas. The position also calls for mentoring other engineers and establishing best practices that strengthen the team’s overall technical impact.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $230,000 – $322,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Design and train advanced ML models for ad ranking
• Optimize features such as embeddings and contextual signals
• Collaborate with product and infrastructure teams for model deployment
• Mentor junior Machine Learning Engineers and promote best practices
• Define long-term modeling vision across multiple domains

Qualifications

• 7+ years of industry experience, particularly in applied ML roles
• Expertise in Deep Learning architectures using frameworks like TensorFlow and PyTorch
• Experience in recommendation systems or ads ranking
• Proficiency with large-scale datasets and complex feature pipelines
• Strong problem-solving and experimental mindset
• Track record of delivering impactful models in production
