Staff MLOps Engineer

We are hiring a Staff MLOps Engineer to lead the design, scaling, and automation of our next-generation AI/ML infrastructure. As a technical leader, you will collaborate across engineering teams to establish best-in-class MLOps standards, integrate AI-assisted developer tools, and ensure our AI/ML systems remain secure, private, and resilient at enterprise scale.

Working hours: Overlap until 12 pm PST.

Contract: B2B (sole proprietorship)

Responsibilities

• Research and develop state-of-the-art AI/ML solutions and tools that transform how we train, deploy, and monitor models
• Work at the intersection of scale and privacy. You will design secure, private, and highly performant systems, ensuring our systems respect and protect user privacy as a core engineering feature.
• Act as a technical leader. You will collaborate with broader teams, actively participating in design discussions, giving and receiving constructive feedback, and mentoring junior engineers.
• Participate in our highly collaborative environment to elevate our engineering standards. From design reviews and rigorous code reviews to robust test automation, you will ensure our AI/ML systems are maintainable and resilient.

Requirements

• 5–7+ years of professional software engineering experience with a dedicated focus on AI/ML
• Deep understanding of traditional ML concepts (supervised/unsupervised learning) as well as Generative AI
• Proven expertise in system design and high-scale distributed data processing
• Practical experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX
• Proficiency in Python, Java, or Scala

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with MLOps and deploying ML infrastructure using tools like Kubernetes, MLflow, or Ray.
• Familiarity with using LLM coding tools (e.g., Gemini, Claude) and developer tools to accelerate software engineering workflows
