STAFF NURSE -CTVS /CCU

To provide safe, comprehensive, and quality nursing care to patients undergoing cardiothoracic and vascular surgical procedures, ensuring effective pre-operative and post-operative management, continuous patient monitoring, medication administration, and compliance with hospital policies and applicable NABH standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide pre-operative and post-operative nursing care to patients undergoing cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgeries.
• Monitor vital signs, ECG, oxygen saturation, hemodynamic parameters, and overall patient condition.
• Identify and promptly report clinical deterioration, arrhythmias, bleeding, respiratory distress, and other post-operative complications.
• Administer medications, IV fluids, blood products, and prescribed treatments as per physician orders and hospital protocols.
• Monitor surgical wounds, drains, chest tubes, and other invasive devices, maintaining appropriate documentation and reporting abnormalities.
• Assist doctors during clinical procedures and coordinate with the CTVS team, Cardiac ICU, OT, and other departments.
• Maintain accurate nursing records, medication charts, intake-output records, and patient care documentation.
• Ensure adherence to infection prevention and control practices, hand hygiene, biomedical waste management, and patient safety protocols.
• Educate patients and attendants regarding post-operative care, medication compliance, mobility, and discharge instructions.
• Ensure proper shift handover, timely escalation of critical findings, and continuity of patient care.
• Maintain patient confidentiality, dignity, and professional conduct at all times.
• Comply with hospital policies, quality indicators, and applicable NABH requirements.

Required Skills

• Knowledge of cardiac monitoring and post-operative CTVS nursing care.
• Ability to recognize emergency situations and respond promptly.
• Sound understanding of medication safety, infection control, and patient safety protocols.
• Effective communication, teamwork, and clinical documentation skills.
• Ability to work in rotational shifts, including night duties.

Eligibility Criteria

• Valid nursing qualification and registration with the respective State Nursing Council.
• Relevant experience in CTVS, Cardiac ICU, or Critical Care will be preferred.
• Freshers with strong clinical fundamentals may be considered, depending on departmental requirements.
