Staff Pharmacist

Job Summary

Provides age-specific pharmaceutical care and clinical services within assigned patient care areas. Contributes to quality assurance, performance improvement, and departmental activities. Performs additional duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Manages medication orders with age-specific considerations to ensure safety through processing, preparation, and dispensing.
• Participates in pharmacotherapeutic planning.
• Effectively manages pharmacy practice operations.
• Supervises and directs healthcare team members.
• Processes and prepares sterile products for dispensing.
• Provides drug information and education.
• Contributes to departmental goals, programs, and reports.
• Participates in inter- and intra-departmental committees.
• Utilizes automation to maximize safety and efficiency.
• Completes assigned goals accurately and timely.

Qualifications & Skills

• Minimum one year of hospital pharmacy experience (preferred).
• Bachelor of Science or Doctor of Pharmacy degree.
• Basic computer literacy, interpersonal skills, and clinical awareness.
• Preferred: advanced order entry skills, Microsoft Office proficiency, and clinical experience.
• Current, active pharmacy licensure for the appropriate state or eligibility to obtain it.
• Preferred certifications include BLS and/or ACLS; advanced clinical training is a plus.
