Staff Platform Engineer, Core Cloud Platform

For our client, we are seeking a Staff Platform Engineer Core Cloud Platform to join the team of a leader in the Enterprise Technology space. This role will lead work at the intersection of data, AI-enabled capabilities, and scalable technology delivery. You will work across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions. The position offers the opportunity to influence architecture, execution quality, and the technology capabilities that enable long-term growth within a technology-driven environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $223,100 – $305,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Own and enhance the Cloud and Kubernetes platform
• Improve security, reliability, cost efficiency, and performance of infrastructure
• Drive standardization and eliminate duplication in processes
• Collaborate with Product teams for service development and ownership
• Work with cross-functional Platform teams for cohesive quality output
• Enable self-service workflows to support a Build it - Own it model
• Create AI-powered tools to simplify infrastructure management
• Provide operational support for globally distributed engineering teams
• Automate and execute operational tasks on critical systems
• Architect and implement maintainable and straightforward solutions

Qualifications

• Extensive experience with Kubernetes, containerization, and AWS cloud services
• Track record of managing Kubernetes and cloud-based SaaS systems at scale
• Deep knowledge of networking and production-level service meshes and gateways
• Strong troubleshooting skills relating to Kubernetes and associated technologies
• Proficient in Python and Golang, ideally through developing infrastructure tooling
• Experience advocating for effective CI/CD practices
• Ability to design and lead ambitious technical roadmaps
