The Opportunity

Our client is embarking on a flagship product initiative and needs a hands-on Senior Engineer (Staff, Principal, or Lead level) to partner directly with their visionary CTO. Together, you will define the technical vision, establish core architecture, and embed AI deeply into both the product’s capabilities and the daily engineering workflow.

As an integral member of the technical leadership team, you will establish modern engineering standards from day one, design a robust cloud-native architecture, and mentor a high-performing squad of engineers as the platform takes shape.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Drive Architecture & Vision: Own the end-to-end technical design for a brand-new cloud platform built on Node.js, React, and PostgreSQL.
• Ship Code & Lead from the Front: Remain 60–70% hands-on writing clean, scalable code while guiding high-impact technical decisions.
• Pioneer AI Capabilities: Architect intelligent product features and drive internal AI-assisted development practices (agentic workflows, AI copilot tooling, automated generation) to maximize velocity.
• Establish Engineering Rigor: Build robust CI/CD pipelines, DevOps automation, security protocols, and quality benchmarks across the SDLC.
• Technical Coaching & Mentorship: Conduct thorough code reviews, unblock developers, and foster a culture of technical excellence.
• Product Alignment: Collaborate closely with Product and Design leaders to translate business strategy into resilient, actionable technical roadmaps.

What You Bring

• Deep Full-Stack Expertise: Strong commercial experience with Node.js, React, and relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred).
• Cloud & System Design: Proven track record designing scalable web applications, REST/GraphQL APIs, and microservices/serverless architectures on AWS.
• Technical Foundations: Solid background in system architecture, database optimization, and cloud infrastructure automation.
• AI & LLM Curiosity: Practical experience—or a deep technical interest—in LLM integrations, AI developer tooling, and agentic workflows.
• Proven Leadership: Demonstrated background in technical leadership, architectural oversight, or mentoring senior engineers.
• Pragmatic Mindset: Ability to balance rapid time-to-market with long-term architectural integrity.
