Job Overview

Duties

• Perform detailed patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and health history documentation using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Epic and Cerner.
• Administer medications and injections accurately following HIPAA guidelines and aseptic techniques, including IV infusions, catheter care, and medication management.
• Assist with complex procedures such as suturing, catheterization, tube feeding, and ventilator management while maintaining sterile environments.
• Coordinate patient care plans by collaborating with multidisciplinary teams in settings like ICU, emergency room, long-term care facilities, hospice, or outpatient clinics.
• Conduct diagnostic evaluations including laboratory specimen collection/processing and interpret results to inform treatment decisions.
• Provide education and counseling to patients and families on health conditions such as dementia care, geriatrics, developmental disabilities, or post-acute recovery.
• Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations including HIPAA, NCQA standards, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, and documentation of medical records for legal accuracy.

Requirements

• Valid RN license with current registration in the state of practice.
• Proven experience working in diverse clinical environments such as hospital medicine, emergency medicine, critical care (ICU/Level I & II trauma centers), or outpatient clinics.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and pharmacology relevant to acute and chronic patient care.
• Hands-on experience with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks for documentation and patient management.
• Skilled in advanced nursing procedures including IV insertion/infusion, phlebotomy, aseptic technique, airway management, and trauma medicine protocols.
• Ability to handle complex cases involving infectious disease care, pain management experience, behavioral health issues, or hospice & palliative medicine needs.
• Excellent communication skills for triage assessments and case management across varied populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, neonatal resuscitation procedures or patients with developmental disabilities.
• Critical care experience preferred; familiarity with hospital standards such as NCQA standards for quality assurance is a plus.

Pay: $33.83 - $40.74 per hour
