Staff Software Development Engineer

For our client, we are seeking a Staff Software Development Engineer to join the team of a leader in the Healthcare space. This role will lead technical work focused on secure, reliable systems and risk-aware execution. You will work across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions. The position offers the opportunity to influence architecture, execution quality, and the technology capabilities that enable long-term growth within a healthcare environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $118,450 – $236,900 annually

Responsibilities

• Lead and guide the engineering team, promoting technical excellence and best practices
• Research and assess emerging technologies for innovation in digital health
• Design and implement complex software features with a focus on performance and code quality
• Resolve complex technical issues during development
• Provide technical insights to align solutions with business goals
• Recommend technology selection based on performance, scalability, and security
• Mentor junior engineers, fostering their professional growth through training and knowledge sharing

Qualifications

• 7+ years in large-scale software development with 2+ years in a technical lead role
• Advanced experience in application/web services and cloud-native development using Java, React, Angular, Spring Boot, REST API, and JPA
• 5+ years in agile development methodologies
• Experience designing and developing Microservices and REST APIs
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and CircleCI
• Proficient in source management tools like GitHub or GitLab
• Experience with cloud platforms like Azure, GCP, or AWS
