Staff Software Engineer, App Promotion

For our client, we are seeking a Staff Software Engineer, App Promotion to join the team of a leader in the Consumer Technology space.

This role will lead a high-impact engineering function focused on advertiser-facing campaign creation and optimization for app promotion initiatives. You will partner closely with ML, Ads Quality, Measurement, and Reporting teams to improve serving, modeling, attribution, and reporting accuracy. The position also calls for strong technical leadership across architecture, operational rigor, and team development as the organization moves programs from beta into broader launch.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $189,308 – $389,753 annually

Responsibilities

• Lead the engineering team for app promotion and app install optimization from beta to GA.
• Define and refine the advertiser experience in Ads Manager for campaign creation and optimization.
• Ensure robust serving and modeling for app promotion campaigns through collaboration with Ads Quality and ML teams.
• Close attribution gaps and ensure accurate reporting in partnership with Measurement and Reporting teams.
• Establish strong engineering practices including design reviews and incident response.
• Hire, coach, and develop a diverse engineering team, fostering a culture of inclusion and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Several years of engineering management experience with full stack and/or mobile teams.
• Experience in performance, growth, or ads engineering, particularly with app install or engagement.
• Proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional projects involving multiple teams.
• Strong technical judgment in architecture, data quality, and measurement.
• Excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
