Staff Software Engineer, Modeling Platform

For our client, we are seeking a Staff Software Engineer, Modeling Platform to join the team of a leader in the Enterprise Technology space.

This role will shape the technical direction of a core platform that enables faster, more scalable product development across internal teams.

You will partner closely with engineering peers, drive key architectural decisions, and establish a multi-year strategy for a self-service framework used broadly across the organization.

The position calls for a hands-on technical leader who can balance backend depth, platform thinking, and mentorship in a fast-moving enterprise technology environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $181,289 – $250,239 annually

Responsibilities

• Own the technical direction for the platform framework and SDK, partnering with the relevant internal team
• Evolve the platform framework to create a self-service setup that accelerates product development
• Make critical platform-level decisions, weighing tradeoffs and responsibilities
• Drive ambiguous decisions forward proactively while ensuring stakeholder engagement and accountability
• Set and communicate the multi-year technical strategy for the platform
• Facilitate technical alignment across teams to support cohesive product development
• Contribute as a hands-on backend-primary fullstack engineer across the platform
• Mentor and develop engineers, establishing strong technical standards and architectural guidance

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, with progression into staff-level leadership
• Strong Python fundamentals with production experience in Django or similar frameworks
• Experience owning a platform or framework used by multiple internal teams
• Solid backend engineering foundation with frontend component experience
• Evidence of setting and delivering a multi-year technical strategy for a platform or system
• Proven track record of mentoring and growing engineers toward senior and staff-level capabilities
