Staff Software Engineer - Virtualization

For our client, we are seeking a Staff Software Engineer - Virtualization to join the team of a leader in the Manufacturing & Automotive space.

This role will focus on advancing software engineering productivity and enabling high-quality delivery across embedded and cloud environments. You will help shape scalable engineering practices, improve release reliability, and support teams building safety-critical systems for the automotive industry. The position also calls for strong technical leadership, hands-on problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration to connect multiple initiatives and drive greater organizational impact.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $171,150 – $288,500 annually

Responsibilities

• Lead software engineering productivity and effectiveness
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and lead change
• Lead high-impact efforts in a hands-on capacity
• Mentor and coach team members effectively
• Analyze complex problems and provide effective solutions
• Connect multiple initiatives to deliver greater value
• Architect enterprise-scale CI/CD systems for embedded and cloud workloads
• Define branching, release, and quality-gate standards across engineering domains

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in software engineering or equivalent experience
• 10 years of software development experience
• Deep understanding of software architecture for real-time systems
• Experience shipping high-quality safety-critical products
• Exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities
• Deep Kubernetes knowledge, including cluster operations
• Strong Terraform/IaC experience with production-grade module design
• Experience with embedded or simulation workflows
