Staff System Engineer/Infrastructure Lead (5991)

NextPath Workforce Solutions is currently seeking a Staff System Engineer/ Infrastructure Lead to join our client’s team in Reading, PA. This is an onsite, contract position.

SALARY: $60-70hr (depending on experience).

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in network engineering, systems engineering, or cloud infrastructure

• Experience supporting digital products, SaaS platforms, or customer-facing applications

• Strong experience with:

• Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and associated networking services

• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar)

• Automation and scripting (Python, Bash, etc.)

• Containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, Openshift)

• API gateways, service mesh, and modern service-to-service communication

• Observability tools (Datadog, Prometheus, Splunk, Dynatrace, etc.)

• Strong Linux experience

• Knowledge of open-source and purchased middleware (webservers, application servers, database servers, load balancers, single-sign-on, identity management, Kafka, collaboration software, etc.)

• Ability to support SaaS products and support technical architecture needs

• Understanding of zero trust, secure network design, and Microsoft Entra ID/IAM/OIDC/SAML

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement network and cloud architecture supporting digital products
• Analyze traffic, latency, and establish SLAs/SLOs
• Plan capacity and support disaster recovery strategies
• Collaborate with multiple engineering and technology teams
• Develop implementation plans, testing strategies, and timelines
• Support automation and infrastructure as code practices
• Monitor system and network performance, analyze traffic patterns, and optimize for performance and cost
• Lead capacity planning, forecasting, and scaling strategies
• Support incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous improvements
