Staff Systems Engineer, Infrastructure

For our client, we are seeking a Staff Systems Engineer, Infrastructure to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space.

This role will drive enterprise infrastructure strategy and execution across compute, storage, networking, Linux, Windows, and K8S environments. The person in this position will partner with multiple technical teams to design scalable solutions, reduce operational toil through automation, and strengthen reliability across critical systems. This is an opportunity to shape Infrastructure as Code standards, support modernization efforts, and influence the adoption of AI-enabled tooling in a complex enterprise environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $122,001 – $178,935 annually

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership across compute, storage, networking, Linux, Windows, and K8S platforms.
• Design and implement enterprise-scale infrastructure solutions aligned with business strategy.
• Identify systemic issues and reduce operational toil through automation.
• Define Infrastructure as Code (IaC) standards using tools like Terraform and Ansible.
• Lead evaluation and adoption of AI-enabled tooling for infrastructure operations.
• Collaborate with multiple teams to design end-to-end infrastructure solutions.
• Participate in incident response and provide support during critical infrastructure incidents.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years in infrastructure engineering roles with hands-on ownership of compute, virtualization, and storage platforms.
• Expertise in designing and troubleshooting enterprise-scale compute and virtualization environments.
• Experience in large-scale migrations from on-premises to AWS.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise storage systems and their architectures.
