About the program

We’re looking for graduate software engineers who have completed their degree in 2024, 2025 or 2026 to join our Technology team in Sydney.

Program details

• Start date: February 2027
• Location: Stake HQ - Sydney CBD
• Background: Graduated in 2024, 2025 or 2026 with a degree in Computer Science or another relevant degree
• Application and interview process : will take place in Oct/Nov 2026 with offers going out in Dec 2026

What success looks like

Early in your career at Stake, you’ll have:

• Contributed production code that improves the experience of customers, working alongside experienced engineers
• Written clear, maintainable and well-tested code, following Stake’s engineering best practices
• Taken part in design reviews, planning sessions and retrospectives, and built your understanding of how we run reliable, scalable services
• Learned to support the systems you help build in production, with guidance from more experienced engineers
• Grown through thoughtful code reviews, giving and receiving feedback with equal confidence
• Built strong working relationships across Product, Design and Engineering
• Shown the curiosity, ownership and consistency that set you up for an ongoing role as an Associate Software Engineer

You’ll thrive here if…

• You completed your degree in 2024, 2025 or 2026 – ideally in computer science, though we welcome applicants from other disciplines – and you’re hungry to kick-start a career in software engineering

If we think you’d be a good addition to our team, here’s what to expect:

1. Online application with AI interview
   • A first touchpoint to understand your background, motivation and skillset.
2. Live coding interview - Oct/Nov 2026. Solve a real problem with one of our engineers, thinking out loud as you go.
3. Stake Onsite Day - Nov 2026. One day at our Sydney office to meet the team you could join and spend time with Stake’s founders and leadership. You’ll also take part in group exercises, including system design, alongside other candidates.
4. Offers - Dec 2026. Successful candidates receive an offer, complete standard right-to-work checks and lock in a start date for Feb 2027.
