What they need

Australian Naval Infrastructure Pty Ltd (ANI) is the owner, developer and manager of the Osborne Naval Shipyards, supporting the Commonwealth’s Naval Shipbuilding Plan. ANI is responsible designing, constructing and managing the shipyard infrastructure, including the new Nuclear-Powered Submarine Construction Yard to support the AUKUS program, and operating and maintaining common use facilities.

ANI plays a pivotal role in delivering Australia’s naval shipbuilding capability, contributing to one of the nation’s most significant and complex infrastructure programs. Based in Adelaide, our work underpins the future of naval shipbuilding through world-class infrastructure at Osborne.

ANI has an opportunity for an experienced Stakeholder Engagement Manager to join its Communications and Engagement team in Adelaide.

Reporting to the Head of Communications and Engagement, you will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of stakeholder engagement and social licence activities across a complex and high-profile stakeholder environment. You will work closely with project teams, government, industry, community and other key stakeholders to ensure engagement is strategically planned, consistently delivered and aligned with project milestones, organisational priorities and community expectations.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and deliver ANI’s stakeholder engagement and social licence strategy across major programs and projects
  • Manage consultation and engagement with government, industry, community, First Nations and other key stakeholders
  • Coordinate engagement for major construction activities, working closely with project teams, contractors and affected communities
  • Identify and manage stakeholder risks, sensitivities and emerging issues, providing timely advice to support decision-making
  • Oversee stakeholder governance, reporting and engagement resources to ensure consistent, high-quality delivery

About You:

You will be an experienced stakeholder engagement professional with strong judgement, commercial awareness and the ability to operate confidently in complex, high-profile and politically sensitive environments. You will bring a strategic yet practical approach to engagement, with the ability to understand stakeholder priorities, anticipate risks and build trusted relationships across government, industry, community and project environments.

You will also have:

  • Significant stakeholder engagement experience in complex, regulated or high-profile environments, ideally across major infrastructure, Defence, energy, transport or utilities
  • Demonstrated experience developing and delivering stakeholder engagement and social licence strategies
  • Strong capability in managing sensitive stakeholder issues and building trusted relationships across government, industry and community groups
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear engagement plans, briefings and executive-level advice
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent professional experience, together with a current Class C Driver’s Licence

Why Join ANI

This is a rare opportunity to influence stakeholder relationships and community outcomes across one of Australia's most significant infrastructure and defence programs. You will work alongside highly skilled professionals delivering nationally important projects that directly contribute to Australia's sovereign capability and long-term national security objectives.

ANI offers a collaborative and supportive working environment, flexible work arrangements including a 9-day fortnight, and the opportunity to make a lasting impact through stakeholder engagement, social licence and community partnerships on projects of national significance.
