State Manager

Lead, grow and shape the Queensland operation of an established fire protection business.

Morson Edge Recruitment is partnering with an established fire protection services business to identify an experienced State Manager – Queensland to take ownership of its Queensland operations.

This is a senior leadership opportunity for someone who understands the fire protection industry, enjoys leading people and is commercially minded enough to drive both operational performance and business growth.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Taking ownership of the day-to-day performance and strategic direction of the Queensland business.
• Developing and implementing business plans to support sustainable growth.
• Managing budgets, forecasts, revenue and overall financial performance.
• Identifying opportunities to grow service agreements, repairs, maintenance and minor works.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
• Providing leadership and direction to technicians, supervisors and office-based support teams.
• Monitoring operational KPIs and driving accountability across the business.
• Ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with relevant legislation, standards and company procedures.
• Supporting recruitment, performance management, development and retention of the Queensland team.
• Acting as a senior escalation point for customers and operational matters.
• Continuously identifying ways to improve processes, productivity, customer service and profitability.

What We're Looking For"

We’re looking for an experienced leader who can combine technical industry knowledge with strong commercial and people-management skills.

Ideally, you will bring:

• Previous management or leadership experience within a service-based, technical or field operations environment.
• Strong understanding of the fire protection industry and relevant Australian Standards.
• Demonstrated experience managing budgets, forecasts, P&L and commercial outcomes.
• Experience leading technicians, supervisors and support teams.
• Strong customer relationship and stakeholder management skills.
• A practical understanding of service contracts, maintenance and reactive works.
• A current Queensland Driver Licence.
• Relevant trade qualifications and/or Certificate II/III in Asset Maintenance – Fire Protection Equipment.

Desirable

It would be advantageous if you also have:

• An electrical licence.
• QBCC registration or relevant tertiary qualifications.
• Previous experience within fire protection, HVAC, facilities management or a similar technical services environment.
• Experience working with Uptick or similar field-service management platforms.
• Experience growing a service-based business or regional operation.
