State Technical Manager

We're seeking an experienced State Technical Manager to lead our Victorian technical operations, overseeing sales, projects and service from our Fairfield office and driving the next stage of growth in the state.

As State Technical Manager – Victoria, you will:

• Lead and develop the Victorian Projects, Sales and Service teams, setting clear goals, conducting performance reviews and building a culture of collaboration and accountability.
• Oversee the full sales and installation lifecycle, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget and to JD Security's quality standards.
• Drive revenue growth by supporting the sales team, engaging key Customers and identifying new business opportunities.
• Manage budgets, forecasting, cost control and project margins, reporting to the General Manager – Technical.
• Champion a safety-first culture, ensuring SWMS, risk assessments, audits and incident reporting are consistently maintained.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations, Australian Standards and ISO requirements, and lead continuous improvement across quality and service processes.
• Build strong relationships with Customers, manufacturers and suppliers, and represent JD Security at industry events.
• Manage recruitment, onboarding, training and retention to build a capable, high-performing team.

Skills and Qualifications

• Proven leadership experience managing multi-disciplinary teams within Electronic Security, Technical Services or a related industry is highly regarded.
• Demonstrated sales and business development success with the ability to identify opportunities and close deals.
• Strong understanding of Electronic Security Systems and relevant industry regulations.
• Solid commercial and financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, project cost control and variation management.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in SimPRO and Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Teams).
• Current Victorian driver licence and the right to work in Australia.
