Responsibilities

• Safely operate commercial trucks including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and refrigerated trailers across state lines on over-the-road (OTR) routes
• Plan routes using GPS navigation systems to optimize delivery times and fuel efficiency while complying with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards
• Load and unload freight with manual handling techniques, ensuring proper cargo securing in accordance with hazardous materials regulations when transporting dangerous goods or hazardous materials
• Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure compliance with safety standards and identify maintenance needs
• Manage delivery documentation accurately, including bills of lading, delivery receipts, and logs for freight tracking and regulatory compliance
• Maintain communication with dispatch teams regarding route progress, delays, or issues during transit
• Follow all safety protocols related to hazardous materials regulations when handling dangerous goods or hazardous substances during transportation

Qualifications

• Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a focus on long-distance or route driving across multiple states
• Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with endorsements for tractor-trailer operation; experience with manual transmission preferred
• Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT rules, hazardous materials regulations, and safety standards for truck loading/unloading
• Experience operating refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers or other specialized equipment is a plus
• Ability to navigate using GPS navigation systems accurately in various traffic conditions
• Strong understanding of logistics cargo handling procedures including load & unload processes for freight transportation
• Excellent driving record demonstrating safe driving habits and adherence to all traffic laws
• Physical ability to handle manual loading/unloading tasks and perform routine vehicle inspections

Pay: $1,200.00 - $1,500.00 per week
