Steel Erector Foreman

Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Steel Erector Foreman to lead and oversee steel erection operations on construction sites. This dynamic role requires a proactive leader who can manage teams, interpret technical drawings, and ensure safety and quality standards are met throughout the project lifecycle. As a Steel Erector Foreman, you will coordinate daily activities, supervise crew members, and collaborate closely with project managers to deliver successful outcomes on time and within scope. Your expertise in construction management software, safety regulations, and heavy steel installation will drive efficiency and excellence on site.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise steel erection crews, ensuring tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and according to project specifications.
• Interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and technical documents to guide installation processes accurately.
• Coordinate construction schedules using Primavera P6 or similar project management tools to meet deadlines.
• Oversee safety compliance by enforcing OSHA standards and federal construction safety regulations across all site activities.
• Manage daily site operations including material handling, equipment use, and quality control measures.
• Collaborate with project managers to develop detailed construction schedules and monitor progress regularly.
• Review construction drawings and technical documents for accuracy; manage change orders and contractual adjustments as needed.
• Supervise team performance, provide training on construction safety management, and foster a culture of teamwork and accountability.
• Utilize construction management software such as ProCore, Bluebeam, Prolog, HeavyBid, Primavera P6, or equivalent tools for documentation and reporting.
• Ensure proper use of testing equipment like ohmmeters for electrical inspections when required.
• Maintain clear communication with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure project alignment.

Experience

• Proven experience in heavy steel erection within commercial or industrial construction environments.
• Demonstrated supervisory experience managing teams in a fast-paced construction setting.
• Strong knowledge of construction regulations including OSHA standards and federal safety protocols.
• Familiarity with construction scheduling software such as Primavera P6 or Primavera; experience with project scheduling is essential.
• Skilled in blueprint reading, interpreting technical drawings, and conducting construction drawing reviews.
• Experience with construction safety management practices and quality control procedures on large-scale projects.
• Ability to manage budgets effectively while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
• Prior experience working with contracts, managing change orders, and coordinating multiple subcontractors or suppliers is preferred.
• Knowledge of pipeline projects or heavy civil infrastructure is advantageous but not mandatory.

Pay: $29.94 - $36.05 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 – 60.0 per week
