Steel Fabricator

Description Job Summary: The Steel Fabricator is responsible for the fabrication of steel components as per the specifications and instructions provided in digital blueprints. This role involves using various tools and machinery to cut, shape, and weld steel, adhering to the highest standards of quality and safety. The Fabricator works closely with the Fabrication Supervisor and collaborates with team members to ensure the timely completion of projects.

Key Responsibilities Blueprint Interpretation and Fabrication: Access and interpret digital blueprints on provided tablets.

Determine job requirements from blueprints, drawings, and specifications.

Measure, cut, shape, and weld steel components accurately using tools and equipment.

Fabrication Processes Utilize machinery such as shears, saws, presses, and welding equipment for steel fabrication.

Assemble structural steel components according to digital specifications.

Ensure all fabricated components meet specified dimensions and tolerances.

Safety And Maintenance Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.

Maintain a clean and organized workspace.

Perform routine maintenance and repairs on fabrication equipment as required.

Collaboration And Communication Work collaboratively with the Fabrication Supervisor and team members.

Communicate effectively to resolve any fabrication issues.

Report progress and any challenges encountered during fabrication to the supervisor.

Offers of employment are contigent upon passing an HPE (Human Performance Exam) that tests the capability of likely physical requirements of the specific position. Position Requirements

Qualifications Education and Experience: Technical or trade school certification in welding or metal fabrication preferred.

Skills And Competencies Minimum of 1 years of experience in steel fabrication.

Proficiency in reading and interpreting digital blueprints.

Skilled in MIG welding techniques.

Experience with metal cutting, shaping, and assembling tools and machinery.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Good problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in a team.

Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials and work in various positions.

Strong understanding of safety protocols and procedures.

Tools And Equipment Used Digital tablets for accessing blueprints and job specifications.

Shears, saws, presses, welding equipment, and other fabrication tools.

Personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

Work Environment Fabrication shop environment with exposure to noise, heat, and heavy machinery.

Requires standing, bending, and lifting heavy materials.

Must adhere to safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE.

Quality Control Collaborate with the Quality Control team to ensure all fabricated components meet company standards.

Submit completed components for quality inspection and address any feedback or required adjustments.

Performance Metrics Accuracy and quality of fabricated components.

Adherence to project timelines and deadlines.

Compliance with safety protocols.

Effective communication and collaboration with team members.
