Steel Slitting Machine Operator

Company Details / Industry:  Our client is a steel manufacturing and processing company based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, specializing in steel coil processing, slitting and related steel products for construction and industrial applications.

Position **:**Steel Slitting Machine Operator / Foreman / Mill Engineer

Job Profile:

• Operate and supervise Steel Slitting Machines for coils of minimum 0.75 mm thickness.
• Handle machine setup, production parameters, troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
• Monitor production, product quality, machine performance and minimize downtime.
• Coordinate with Mechanical & Electrical teams for maintenance and breakdown resolution.
• Ensure compliance with safety, housekeeping, quality, and production standards while reducing machine downtime.

Desired Candidate:

• Diploma / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• Experience: Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in Steel Slitting / Coil Slitting operations.
• Strong practical knowledge of Steel Slitting Machines handling minimum 0.75 mm thickness coils.
• Experience in machine troubleshooting, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and downtime reduction.
• Good coordination skills with Mechanical, Electrical and Production teams.
• Good English communication and writing skills with basic IT knowledge.
