What they need

If you love teaching kids and have a spark of curiosity for STEM, we’ll handle the robotics training—you bring the passion!

About RoboThink Niagara

RoboThink Niagara is a local STEM education provider offering hands-on robotics, engineering, and coding programs for kids ages 5–14. As part of a global network in 30+ countries, we combine fun, step-by-step curriculum with local partnerships to build problem-solving skills, creativity, and confidence in young learners.

We offer after-school programs, in-school workshops, camps, and community events across the Niagara region, and we are currently looking for passionate STEM Robotics & Coding Instructors to join our team!

If you love working with children, excel at managing a fun and active classroom, and bring high energy to group activities, we want to hear from you! You do not need an engineering or IT background — we provide training, lesson plans, and tech materials. Basic familiarity with coding concepts (e.g., Scratch or Python) is a bonus, but not required.

What You'll Do

As a STEM Robotics & Coding Instructor, you will:

  • Lead Active Classrooms: Independently guide children (ages 5–14) through fun, structured building, engineering, and basic coding projects using RoboThink materials and curriculum.
  • Manage Group Dynamics: Maintain a safe, inclusive, well-organized, and encouraging learning environment using strong classroom management skills.
  • Foster Critical Thinking: Encourage student creativity, collaboration, problem-solving, and confidence throughout each build session.
  • Prepare & Track: Review session activities before class, track student progress, and provide encouraging, age-appropriate guidance.
  • Parent Communication: Connect with parents and guardians at pick-up/drop-off to share program highlights and student achievements.
  • Classroom Logistics: Handle set-up and clean-up of program spaces and robotics kits before and after sessions.
  • Team & Events Support: Collaborate with fellow instructors and support special events, demonstrations, workshops, and themed camp activities across the region.

Who We're Looking For

You may be a great fit if you:

  • Experience with Children: Proven experience leading or teaching children aged 5-14 through camps, schools, tutoring, recreation leadership, coaching, or childcare. Comfortable taking the lead with a group of children
  • Classroom Management: Strong ability to keep young children engaged, focused, and playing safely in a group setting, and able to work independently.
  • Core Personal Traits: Patient, reliable, punctual, organized, proactive, and comfortable taking initiative in front of a class of children.
  • Strong Communicator: Excellent interpersonal skills with both young learners and parents.
  • Reliable Transportation: Access to a reliable vehicle to travel to program locations across the Niagara region (including, but not limited to Grimsby, Niagara Falls, Pelham, St. Catharines, Thorold, Welland, etc.).
  • Background or interest in Education, Child & Youth Studies, Recreation, or STEM fields is an asset.
  • Basic knowledge of coding concepts or block-based/text languages (e.g., Scratch, Python) is an asset.
  • Hold valid First Aid & CPR-C/AED certification (preferred)
  • Have HIGH FIVE® - Principles of Healthy Child Development certification (an asset)

Why Join RoboThink Niagara?

  • Make a meaningful impact by helping children build confidence, creativity, and problem- solving skills
  • Gain hands-on experience in STEM education and youth programming
  • Work in a supportive, collaborative, and community-focused environment
  • Build valuable leadership, communication, classroom management, and facilitation skills
  • Receive training in RoboThink curriculum, robotics systems, coding platforms, and program delivery
  • Variable part-time hours with opportunities across community centres, schools, camps, workshops, and special programs throughout the Niagara region
  • Opportunities to take on greater program responsibility and leadership as you grow with us
