Role: SPD Training Specialist

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver orientation, ongoing training, and skills assessments for Sterile Processing Department (SPD) staff.
• Ensure safe and accurate instrument reprocessing aligned with AAMI, AORN, and hospital standards.
• Partner with SPD leaders and perioperative teams to identify learning needs and update training curricula.
• Support the adoption of new technologies and promote best practices to reduce risks and enhance patient safety.

Qualifications And Skills

• Experience in sterile processing, surgical instrument reprocessing, or related healthcare training.
• Strong knowledge of sterilization standards, safety protocols, and clinical best practices.
• Excellent communication, instructional, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to assess learning needs and develop effective training programs in a fast-paced pediatric environment.
