Sterile Processing Instructor (Part-Time)

Overview

We are seeking a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Sterile Processing Instructor to join our growing healthcare education team. In this role, you will prepare students for successful careers in sterile processing by delivering engaging classroom instruction and hands-on laboratory training. Responsibilities

• Teach classroom and laboratory courses in sterile processing.
• Deliver instruction on sterile processing principles, instrument decontamination, sterilization methods, infection prevention, and surgical instrumentation.
• Develop, maintain, and update course materials to align with current industry standards and certification requirements.
• Evaluate student progress through exams, skills assessments, practical demonstrations, and assignments.
• Provide guidance, mentorship, and constructive feedback to support student success.
• Utilize the school's Learning Management System (Canvas) to manage course content, grades, attendance, and student communication.
• Maintain accurate student records and documentation.
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and professional learning environment.
• Collaborate with faculty and administration to support program development and continuous improvement.
• Ensure all instruction complies with accreditation standards and program policies.

Required Qualifications

• Current experience in sterile processing.
• Current sterile processing certification (CRCST or equivalent).
• Strong knowledge of surgical instrumentation, sterilization practices, infection control, and healthcare safety standards.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to effectively teach and mentor adult learners.
• Proficiency with basic computer applications.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous teaching or training experience.
• Experience working in higher education, vocational education, or clinical training programs.
• Experience using Canvas or another Learning Management System (LMS).
• Supervisory or leadership experience within a sterile processing department.

Compensation & Benefits

Pay: $35.00–$45.00 per hour
