We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician to ensure the safety and functionality of medical instruments and equipment within a healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will possess a thorough understanding of sterile processing procedures, infection prevention protocols, and medical terminology. As a vital member of the healthcare team, you will be responsible for preparing, sterilizing, and maintaining surgical instruments and medical devices to uphold the highest standards of patient safety and care.

Duties

• Assemble, inspect, and package sterile processing medical instruments in accordance with established protocols.
• Operate sterilization equipment such as autoclaves and sterilizers to ensure effective decontamination of surgical tools.
• Manage inventory levels of sterile supplies and medical equipment, ensuring timely replenishment and proper storage.
• Perform decontamination procedures on used instruments, adhering strictly to infection control standards.
• Reprocess endoscopes and other complex medical devices following manufacturer guidelines and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain accurate documentation of sterilization cycles, instrument tracking, and quality assurance records.
• Apply aseptic techniques during instrument handling to prevent contamination and ensure patient safety.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to facilitate the timely availability of sterile instruments for procedures.
• Implement infection prevention management strategies aligned with healthcare infection control policies.

Requirements

• Proven experience in sterile processing, medical instrument assembly, and packaging within a healthcare setting.
• Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to surgical procedures.
• Familiarity with sterilization methods for surgical instruments and medical equipment operation.
• Expertise in infection control practices, including decontamination, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection prevention protocols.
• Ability to manage inventory efficiently while maintaining compliance with safety standards.
• Knowledge of endoscope reprocessing procedures and handling complex medical devices is preferred.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Certification in sterile processing or related fields is advantageous but not mandatory; relevant training will be provided for qualified candidates.
