Duties

• Perform detailed decontamination, cleaning, and sterilization of surgical instruments, endoscopes, and other medical equipment using approved sterilization techniques and equipment operation protocols.
• Assemble, inspect, and package sterile processing medical instruments with precision to ensure they meet strict quality standards.
• Manage inventory by tracking supplies, ordering necessary items, and maintaining accurate records of sterilized instruments and equipment.
• Conduct thorough reprocessing of endoscopes following established guidelines for anatomy knowledge and infection control to prevent cross-contamination.
• Adhere strictly to aseptic techniques and infection prevention management practices during all stages of sterilization and handling procedures.
• Follow detailed steps for sterilizing medical equipment using appropriate methods such as steam sterilization, chemical sterilants, or low-temperature processes as required.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation for all sterilization cycles, decontamination processes, and quality assurance checks to ensure compliance with healthcare standards.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of sterile processing procedures including medical instrument assembly, packaging, and sterilization techniques.
• Proficiency in inventory management systems to track supplies and ensure availability of sterile instruments at all times.
• Solid understanding of physiology and anatomy to properly handle specialized surgical instruments and endoscopes.
• Familiarity with medical terminology related to surgical procedures, instrumentation, and infection control protocols.
• Experience operating medical equipment used in sterilization processes such as autoclaves, ultrasonic cleaners, and reprocessing machines.
• Expertise in infection prevention management with a focus on healthcare infection control standards and aseptic technique adherence.
• Ability to perform endoscope reprocessing following strict guidelines for anatomy knowledge and infection control measures.

Pay: $15.00 per hour
