Sterile Tech/Hygiene Assistant

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Sterile Tech/Hygiene Assistant to join our dental team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of infection control and sterilization protocols to ensure a safe and efficient environment for both patients and staff. Your expertise will help uphold clinical confidentiality policies, support clinical procedures, and contribute to the overall smooth operation of our dental practice. Responsibilities

• Prepare, sterilize, and maintain dental instruments and equipment following strict infection prevention management procedures
• Assist with dental chairside procedures by ensuring all necessary tools and materials are ready and sterile
• Manage medical documentation and dental records accurately using patient management software such as Eaglesoft
• Conduct X-ray procedures with proper safety measures, including dental x-ray and 3D scanner operation when applicable
• Monitor vital signs and assist in patient care activities to promote comfort and safety during visits
• Ensure compliance with healthcare infection control standards, including HIPAA regulations, to protect patient privacy and confidentiality

Requirements

• Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of dental sterilization procedures and infection control practices
• Ability to operate dental equipment including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other clinical tools effectively
• Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention protocols and aseptic techniques
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and support patient care activities
• Certification or training in dental assisting, infection control, or related fields is highly preferred
