About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Steward to join the JGQ Group of Companies in Davao City, Davao del Sur. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness, organisation, and smooth operation of our bar and beverage facilities. As a Steward, you will be responsible for ensuring that all equipment, glassware, and service areas meet our high standards of hygiene and presentation, directly contributing to an exceptional guest experience and supporting our front-of-house team in delivering outstanding service.

Key responsibilities

• Washing, cleaning and sanitising all glassware, crockery, cutlery and bar equipment according to health and safety standards
• Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of the bar area, back-of-house, storage areas and service stations
• Restocking bar supplies, glassware and equipment to ensure availability during service
• Operating and maintaining dishwashing equipment and other cleaning machinery
• Disposing of waste materials in accordance with environmental and health regulations
• Supporting bar staff by ensuring prompt availability of clean equipment and supplies during peak service times
• Following established cleaning schedules and procedures to maintain high standards of cleanliness
• Reporting any equipment damage or maintenance issues to management
• Assisting with general setup and breakdown of bar and beverage service areas as required

What we're looking for

• Previous experience as a Steward, dishwasher or in a similar hospitality support role
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
• Physical fitness and ability to work standing for extended periods and handle repetitive tasks
• Reliability and punctuality with a strong work ethic
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment during busy service periods
• Good communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with the team
• Knowledge of health and safety standards in hospitality establishments
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends and public holidays as required
• Willingness to learn and take initiative in supporting the wider bar and beverage operations
