Steward /Laundry

Key Responsibilities

• Sorting and Inspection: Sort soiled items by color, fabric type, soil level, and washing instructions, and check for stains, tears, or missing buttons. [1, 2]
• Machine Operation: Load and operate commercial washing machines, dryers, presses, and irons safely, applying the correct detergents, bleaches, and stain removers. [1, 2]
• Finishing and Packaging: Fold, hang, or press clean garments and linens according to strict facility or brand standards. [1, 2]
• Inventory and Tracking: Count, log, and manage linen or uniform stocks, reporting shortages or damaged goods to supervisors. [1, 2]
• Area Maintenance: Keep the laundry room, machinery, lint traps, and drains clean and compliant with health and safety guidelines. [1, 2]
• Cross-Functional Duties (Common in ships/resorts): Help with general housekeeping, garbage handling, luggage service, or public area cleaning as assigned by management. [1, 2]

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent is typically preferred, though many positions offer on-the-job training.
• Experience: Prior experience in large-scale commercial, hotel, healthcare, or maritime/cruise operations is a strong advantage.
• Technical Knowledge: Understanding of fabric care, commercial laundry chemicals, infection control, and machine maintenance.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long shifts, bend, and lift heavy loads of wet or dry linen regularly.
• Organization & Detail: Strong time-management skills to handle high-volume outputs under tight schedules. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8]

Pay: Php20,000.00 - Php24,000.00 per month
