Steward Supervisor

Job Summary
The Steward Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all stewarding operations within the kitchen and commissary areas. This role serves as the overall head of the stewarding section, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, sanitation, safety, and operational efficiency. The Steward Leader plans and manages cleaning schedules, supervises stewarding staff, and works closely with kitchen and production leaders to support smooth daily operations.

Main Duties

• Act as the overall head and decision-maker of the stewarding section.
• Plan daily and weekly cleaning and sanitation schedules for all kitchen and commissary areas.
• Lead, supervise, and support stewarding staff in dishwashing, waste management, and general cleaning.
• Assign duties and oversee stewarding staff performance, ensuring efficiency and proper task execution.
• Ensure all kitchen utensils, equipment, and work areas are cleaned, sanitized, and ready for production.
• Monitor and maintain cleaning supplies, tools, and chemical inventory.
• Implement and enforce hygiene, sanitation, and safety standards in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with section leaders and the Commissary Chef/Production Manager to support smooth operations.
• Conduct regular inspections of cleaning areas, equipment rooms, and waste disposal zones.
• Provide training and coaching to stewarding staff to maintain high cleanliness and sanitation standards.
• Prepare reports on cleaning schedules, maintenance concerns, and inventory usage.
• Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency, hygiene, and workplace safety.
