Stitching / Finishing Operator

Position Overview

We are looking for a driven, hardworking, and ambitious individual to join our team as a Stitching / Finishing Operator. This role is centered around operating stitching equipment while also contributing to final print production tasks such as laminating, cutting, mounting, packing, and preparing products for dispatch.

Prior experience in stitching is essential for this role. However, full training will be provided for other finishing processes and equipment. We value your technical background in stitching combined with a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and eagerness to grow.

Key Responsibilities

Stitching & Production Operations

• Set up, adjust, and operate stitching machinery efficiently and accurately.
• Monitor stitching alignment, wire tension, and page order to ensure flawless production output.
• Learn and assist in operating other finishing equipment (such as laminators, cutters, and mounting tools).
• Inspect finished products to ensure they meet strict quality standards.
• Assist in packing, labelling, and preparing jobs for dispatch according to specifications.
• Work closely with supervisors to sign off and complete orders.

Health & Safety

• Follow all health, safety, and operational procedures.
• Keep your work area, machinery, and surrounding workspace clean, tidy, and hazard-free.
• Wear appropriate PPE at all times when required.
• Report machinery defects, maintenance needs, or safety issues promptly.

Quality & Teamwork

• Take pride in producing high-quality work with attention to detail.
• Work effectively with team members and supervisors.
• Maintain an organised workspace.

Requirements & Qualifications

Essential Experience:

• Proven experience operating stitching/binding machinery in a print or packaging environment.

Working Hours & Salary

• Rotating shifts: 06:30 – 14:30 / 14:30 – 22:30
• Competitive salary (commensurate with experience, with a review after the probation period)

Additional Information

This role may involve physical work, including lifting and handling heavy materials.

Pay: Up to £12.71 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
