Stock Associate

Some jobs are about keeping promises that customers never see. Materials must be received correctly, samples need to be where the records say they are, and project supplies must be ready before a team is waiting for them. We are adding a Stock Associate to help maintain that reliability across our Indianapolis operation.

This is a practical, active position for someone who enjoys creating order and seeing the result of a productive day. You will work behind the scenes in a project-based materials environment, supporting the accurate movement of stock from delivery through to internal handoff.

The four handoffs you will own

1. Arrival

Receive incoming deliveries, compare quantities against the accompanying paperwork, and check visible condition before items enter stock. Any shortage, damage, or incorrect item should be reported promptly rather than passed along.

2. Placement

Label and store samples, supplies, and project materials in their assigned locations. You will help keep stock areas clearly arranged so items can be located without unnecessary searching or disruption.

3. Release

Prepare approved items for project teams, update stock movements, and confirm that the correct quantities have been selected. Accuracy matters more than rushing a handoff that later needs to be corrected.

4. Reconciliation

Complete routine counts, investigate straightforward discrepancies, and flag low-stock items. You will also remove damaged packaging, return misplaced items, and leave the area ready for the next working day.

The pace and the setting

The Stock Associate will work full-time and on-site in Indianapolis, Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with a 30-minute unpaid meal break.

This is an active role involving regular standing, walking, reaching, and the safe handling of routine stock items. Approved equipment and team-handling procedures must always be used for heavier or awkward materials. You will not be expected to operate unfamiliar equipment without appropriate instruction.

What will help you succeed

You do not need an extensive warehouse background to be considered. Previous experience handling inventory is useful, but reliability, care, and a willingness to learn are equally important.

You should be able to:

• Count and record quantities accurately
• Follow labels, location codes, and written instructions
• Use a basic computer or handheld stock system
• Communicate problems clearly instead of working around them
• Maintain an orderly and safety-conscious work area
• Work independently while remaining part of the wider team

What a strong start looks like

During your first few weeks, you will learn the stock layout, receiving process, internal handoffs, and safety expectations. Success will mean fewer missing items, dependable counts, organized storage, and project materials being ready when requested.
