Stock Hand

A fantastic opportunity is available for a Stock Hand to become part of our thriving farming operation at Gilbert & Light Regional Council Farms.

Key responsibilities:

• Provide daily care (feeding, vaccinations, culling)
• Monitor and maintain farm records
• Perform routine farm maintenance
• Operate tractors and farm machinery
• Clean sheds and handle live birds
• Load and unload trucks and equipment
• Operate farm equipment and shed controllers
• Assist with general farm operations and maintenance
• Follow biosecurity, safety, and farm procedures
• Perform other duties as required by management

Required skills (Must have):

• Experience or ability to work with poultry and livestock
• Knowledge of bird welfare and biosecurity practices
• Ability to safety administer vaccinations and collect samples
• Basic mechanical aptitude for farm maintenance
• Competence operating tractors and farm machinery
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong awareness of workplace health and safety
