Stocker / Cashier

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and customer-oriented Stocker / Cashier to join our team in a dynamic grocery store environment. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining store inventory, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring a seamless shopping experience for our customers. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail setting.

Duties

• Stock shelves with products, ensuring proper merchandising and organization for optimal visibility.
• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently, handling cash transactions and processing payments accurately.
• Provide exceptional customer service by assisting shoppers with inquiries, product recommendations, and upselling items.
• Conduct product demonstrations to engage customers and promote new or featured products.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sales floor and checkout areas.
• Supervise junior staff members when needed, providing guidance on best practices in stocking and customer service.
• Utilize basic math skills for cash handling and retail math calculations during transactions.
• Exhibit strong phone etiquette when addressing customer calls or inquiries.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in retail sales or grocery store operations is preferred.
• Familiarity with cashiering duties and cash handling procedures is essential.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with customers and team members.
• Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply to better serve our diverse customer base.
• Experience in merchandising and stocking practices is a plus.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for sales transactions.
• A proactive approach to customer service with a focus on meeting customer needs.
• Must be able to speak and understand English.
• Spanish, Arabic, or French is a plus
