Duties

• Stock shelves efficiently by organizing products, ensuring accurate placement, and maintaining attractive displays to enhance the shopping environment
• Operate cash registers and POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately for retail sales transactions, including processing payments and issuing receipts
• Provide exceptional customer service by greeting shoppers, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries or locating items
• Conduct product demos when applicable to educate customers about features and benefits, encouraging engagement and sales
• Handle cash drawer operations with integrity, including cash handling, balancing registers, and managing cash register operations with precision
• Support merchandising efforts by restocking shelves, arranging products attractively, and ensuring inventory levels are maintained
• Assist in inventory management through stocking duties and participating in periodic stock counts to ensure stock accuracy and availability

Skills

• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage positively with customers and team members in a bilingual environment if applicable
• Proven experience in retail sales, cashiering, or grocery store operations with knowledge of retail math for accurate transactions and cash handling
• Familiarity with POS systems and cash register operations to ensure smooth checkout processes
• Demonstrated supervising experience or leadership skills to oversee stocking activities or assist team members as needed
• Ability to perform basic math calculations quickly and accurately for retail math tasks such as making change or totaling sales
• Excellent phone etiquette for handling customer inquiries over the phone professionally
• Knowledge of retail store product knowledge, merchandising techniques, and upselling strategies to maximize sales opportunities
• Experience in grocery stores or similar retail environments preferred; familiarity with product demos and customer service best practices is a plus

Pay: $22.54 - $27.14 per hour
