Stonemason

Overview
We are seeking a skilled Stonemason to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with stone and a strong understanding of masonry techniques. Continuous work is available throughout Scotland in the housing, highway, railway, and civil engineering industries thus requiring a long-term position. Valid CSCS, driving licence and transport availability to meet is essential.

Responsibilities

• Construct and repair stone structures such as walls, pillars and bridges.
• Interpret drawings to determine project specifications and client needs.
• Use hand tools and power tools effectively for cutting, shaping, and finishing stone.
• Collaborate with other contractors and tradespeople to complete projects to the highest quality as safely and efficiently as possible.
• Maintain a clean and organised work environment.

Skills

• Valid CSCS card, driving licence and transport availability to meet is essential.
• Proficient in the use of chisels, mallets, pointing keys etc relevant to masonry work.
• Experience using general masonry techniques through stones, bricks, or blocks.
• Familiarity with power tools used in stonework, including saws, grinders and drills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £21.00-£24.00 per hour
