About the Role

As a Storage Architect, you will design and lead the deployment of enterprise storage and backup platforms for a federal customer environment. You will serve as the technical authority for storage infrastructure strategy, Information Lifecycle Management, and ongoing performance optimization. This is a high-impact role with shared operational ownership alongside government stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, architect, configure, deploy, upgrade, and support enterprise storage and backup platforms and their management tools
• Lead the development of new storage infrastructure and Information Lifecycle Management (ILM) designs, including requirements gathering and analysis
• Share operational ownership of storage provisioning and availability with the government’s Storage Manager
• Deliver technical architectural designs, strategies, and roadmaps on an ongoing basis
• Conduct end-to-end performance analysis of the storage infrastructure, present findings, and provide actionable improvement recommendations
• Track emerging storage and backup technologies and advise federal staff on future technology direction

Required Qualifications

• Hands-on experience designing and deploying enterprise storage platforms (e.g., NetApp, Dell EMC, Pure Storage, HPE)
• Experience with enterprise backup solutions (e.g., Commvault, Veeam, Veritas NetBackup)
• Strong understanding of storage protocols: FC, iSCSI, NFS, SMB/CIFS
• Experience with Information Lifecycle Management (ILM) design and implementation
• Ability to perform storage performance analysis and translate findings into architectural recommendations
• Experience in a government or large enterprise customer-facing environment

Desired Qualifications

• Experience with software-defined storage (SDS) platforms
• Familiarity with cloud-integrated or hybrid storage architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Experience with storage tiering and data deduplication/compression technologies
• Knowledge of ITIL or other IT service management frameworks as applied to storage operations
