STORAGE MIGRATION & ARCHIVING TECH PROJECT MANAGER

Role Summary

We are looking for a highly skilled Storage Engineer/Project Manager to lead a critical data migration project. You will be responsible for the end-to-end management of a data migration strategy, moving from our legacy DELL Unity infrastructure to a modern NASUNI/Azure-based environment. This role involves both high-level architectural planning and hands-on technical execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Leadership: Manage the migration project end-to-end, including planning, execution, and user cutover coordination.
• Architectural Design: Define the target storage architecture and ensure seamless integration with the existing IT environment.
• Data Migration Execution: Design, test, and implement robust data migration scripts to facilitate the move from DELL Unity to NASUNI.
• Infrastructure Management: Oversee the migration process while maintaining data integrity, ACL/NTFS permissions, and SMB share accessibility.
• Archiving & Lifecycle Management: Participate in a Proof of Concept (POC) to implement and optimize data archiving and lifecycle management policies on the NASUNI platform.
• Stakeholder Communication: Manage the transition for end-users, ensuring minimal disruption during the cutover process.

Required Skills

• Network Storage: Expert knowledge of SMB/CIFS protocols.
• Infrastructure Services: Strong experience with DFS (Standalone & AD-integrated).
• Access Control: Mastery of NTFS permissions and ACL management.
• Automation: Proficient in scripting for data migration (e.g., PowerShell, Python, or similar automation tools).
• Experience: Proven track record in managing data migration projects between disparate storage systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• NASUNI Expertise: In-depth knowledge of NASUNI and its integration with Azure is highly desirable.
• Lifecycle Management: Experience with data tiering and lifecycle management strategies (moving data between storage tiers/supports).

Soft Skills

• Strong organizational and project management capabilities.
• Ability to work autonomously while coordinating with broader IT teams.
• Strong problem-solving skills, particularly in handling complex migration scenarios
