Storage Support Engineer

As part of the development of our activities in Switzerland, we are looking for a Storage Support Engineer to support our clients on complex data storage environments.

Context:

You will act as a key technical point of contact for customers using storage solutions deployed within their own infrastructure.

Your main responsibility will be to provide high-quality technical support, quickly understand customer issues, identify the root cause and resolve incidents whenever possible.

When required, you will coordinate and escalate complex issues to the appropriate technical teams while ensuring clear communication and proper follow-up with the customer.

In addition to your support activities, you will also contribute to technical pre-sales discussions alongside sales teams, helping customers understand the solution, its architecture and its integration within their existing environment.

Your responsabilities:

• Provide technical support to customers across Europe
• Investigate, troubleshoot and resolve storage-related incidents
• Analyse customer environments and quickly identify the source of technical issues
• Determine whether incidents are related to the storage solution, operating system or underlying infrastructure
• Escalate complex issues to higher-level engineering teams when required
• Ensure proper follow-up and communication throughout the incident resolution process
• Document incidents, root causes and technical solutions
• Support customers during deployment, configuration and operation of storage environments
• Work with Linux-based server environments
• Monitor and analyse storage services and system behaviour
• Contribute to technical discussions with customers and partners
• Support sales teams during technical pre-sales activities
• Present and explain technical concepts, architectures and integration requirements
• Contribute to continuous improvement of support processes and technical documentation

Key skills:

• Strong knowledge of data storage technologies
• Solid understanding of block, file and object storage
• Strong Linux background
• Experience with server and infrastructure environments
• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
• Good understanding of storage architecture and data management concepts
• Ability to analyse complex technical environments
• Experience in technical customer support
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

• Distributed storage systems
• S3 / object storage technologies
• Storage APIs
• Networking
• Virtualisation
• Cloud infrastructure
• High-availability environments
• Technical pre-sales or solution engineering

Your profile:

• Degree or technical education in IT, systems engineering or a related field
• Around 5 years of professional experience in storage, infrastructure or technical support
• Strong hands-on experience with storage technologies and Linux environments
• Fluent English is mandatory
• French and/or German are considered a strong advantage
• Willingness to participate in support rotations when required
