Store Associate

Job Summary

Duties

• Greet customers warmly and assist them in finding products that meet their needs
• Conduct product demos to showcase features and benefits effectively
• Provide knowledgeable advice on merchandise, including technology and retail items
• Operate POS systems accurately for transactions, including cash handling and processing payments
• Upsell products and accessories to maximize sales opportunities
• Maintain organized merchandising displays to enhance store appearance
• Manage inventory levels and restock shelves as needed
• Handle customer inquiries via phone or in person with professionalism and courtesy
• Ensure a clean and welcoming store environment at all times
• Assist with opening and closing procedures, including cash register management and reporting

Qualifications

• Previous retail sales experience preferred, especially in hardware stores.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain product features clearly
• Bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse customers effectively
• Basic math skills for cash handling and POS transactions
• Excellent organizational skills to manage product displays and inventory
• Customer service-oriented mindset with a friendly demeanor
• Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of merchandising techniques and sales strategies such as upselling
• Familiarity with retail tools including POS systems, cashiering, and phone etiquette
• Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy periods
