Store Designer

Position Overview:

The Retail Store Designer will play a key role in the continued expansion and evolution of Frankies Bikinis’ physical retail fleet. Reporting to the Retail Project Manager (Retail PM) with dotted-line reporting to the Creative Director, Brand, this role will translate and evolve the brand’s design vision across new store openings, store updates, and in-store creative displays. This role supports 4-8 store projects per year, including new openings and updates, with travel to project sites.

The ideal candidate is a highly creative interior designer with a strong design point of view and an ability to create thoughtful, elevated environments that align with the Frankies Bikinis brand. The Retail Store Designer will develop schematic designs, design presentations, and 3D renderings, and manage FF&E procurement for retail stores. The role may also support creative projects such as set design and renderings for events, photoshoots and other brand activations. This role will also collaborate with external Architects, consultants, and contractors to ensure design intent is carried through to execution.

This role requires a strong creative and technical skill set, an understanding of retail environments, and the ability to create functional and buildable designs that can be adapted across the store portfolio.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

Design

·

Develop schematic designs and 3D renderings for new store  openings,  store updates , and in-store creative displays.

·

Translate the Frankies Bikinis retail design language into site-specific designs across different store tiers, footprints, and budgets.

· Support creative projects outside of the retail fleet, including set design and renderings for events, photoshoots, and other brand activations.

· 

Develop design presentations and present concepts  to the Creative Director, Brand  and the Retail PM, external consultants, and cross-functional teams.

·

Work with the Creative Director, Brand and their team to develop and refine store concepts that align with the brand’s overall creative vision.

·

Work with Retail PM to balance creative objectives with project budget, schedule, operational requirements, and constructibility.

Design Documentation

·

Develop drawings and other documentation to communicate design intent to external consultants.

·

Use SketchUp and a rendering tool to develop design concepts, 3D models, and high-quality renderings.

·

Review drawings and consultant documentation to ensure alignment with the approved design. 

Brand & Design Standards

·

Help maintain and evolve Frankies Bikinis’ retail design language and standards.

·

Develop and refine repeatable design elements, fixtures, materials, and details for future stores.

·

Ensure consistency of the brand experience while adapting designs to individual locations.

Procurement & FF&E

· 

Select and procure FF&E, lighting, and finishes in alignment with the design concept, brand standards, and project budget.

·

Manage design-related procurement from selection and approval through ordering, delivery, and installation, coordinating with the internal and external project team.

Construction & Design Implementation

· 

Partner closely with the Retail PM throughout construction to ensure the approved design is accurately executed in the field.

· 

Coordinate with external consultants to resolve design questions and field conditions.

· 

Travel to store locations for site visits, installation, final propping, and store styling to ensure alignment with the design intent.

Education/Requirements:

· 

Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field or equivalent professional experience required.

· 

5+ years of professional experience with 3+ years in retail, hospitality, fashion, or other consumer-facing environments.

· 

Portfolio submission required; portfolio should demonstrate strong design sensibility, creativity, and experience creating compelling physical environments .

· 

Ability to travel to store locations for site visits, approximately 10% of the time.

· 

Advanced proficiency in SketchUp and a rendering tool (Enscape, V-Ray, etc.), with the ability to create detailed 3D models and renderings.

· 

Understanding of materials, finishes, millwork, furniture, lighting, and other elements that contribute to a cohesive retail environment.

· 

Strong creative/design point of view with an understanding of and alignment with the Frankies Bikinis aesthetic and brand vision.

· 

Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to present design concepts creatively using a tool such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, or Google Workspace.

· 

Proficiency in Excel or similar tools for FF&E schedules and budget tracking.

· 

Ability to read Drawings and Construction Documentation.

Salary Range:

The base salary range for this full-time position is $100,000-120,000 per year. Actual salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, candidate’s related work experience. This position is also eligible for benefits.
