STOREKEEPER – INDIAN CAFÉ/RESTAURANT

Location: Victoria Island, Lagos

We are seeking a reliable, organized, and detail-oriented Storekeeper to join our team at a fast-paced Indian café/restaurant.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive and inspect food items, beverages, packaging materials, cleaning supplies, and other deliveries.
• Verify quantities, quality, expiry dates, and specifications against invoices or purchase orders.
• Properly store and arrange all inventory according to appropriate storage requirements.
• Apply FIFO/FEFO principles to minimize spoilage and expired stock.
• Issue stock to the kitchen, bar, and other departments based on approved requisitions.
• Maintain accurate records of stock received, issued, transferred, returned, and wasted.
• Conduct regular physical stock counts and reconcile inventory records.
• Monitor stock levels and alert management when replenishment is required.
• Identify and report shortages, damages, wastage, expiry, and stock discrepancies.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic store environment.
• Ensure proper storage of dry, chilled, and frozen food items.
• Prepare periodic inventory and stock reports for management.
• Work closely with the Kitchen, Purchasing, Accounts, and Restaurant Management teams.
• Ensure proper control and accountability of all items within the store.

Requirements

• Minimum of SSCE/OND; HND is an advantage.
• 1–3 years' experience in a storekeeping, inventory, or stock-control role.
• Previous experience in a restaurant, café, hotel, or food-service environment is preferred.
• Good knowledge of food storage and inventory management.
• Understanding of FIFO/FEFO stock rotation.
• Basic Microsoft Excel and computer skills.
• Good numerical, organizational, and record-keeping skills.
• High level of honesty, integrity, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
