Store Manager (Beverage Operations & R&D)

About FERM

FERM is a Singapore-based beverage brand dedicated to exploring the possibilities of natural fermentation.

We work with fruits, vegetables and other natural ingredients to create fermented beverages that offer a different perspective on flavour, fermentation and everyday drinking.

As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a hands-on Store Manager to lead our daily operations, develop our team and contribute to our ongoing beverage research and development.

Key Responsibilities

Store Operations & Management

• Oversee daily store operations, opening and closing procedures, and service standards.
• Plan staff rosters, manage manpower allocation and coordinate daily responsibilities.
• Maintain store cleanliness, hygiene, food safety and operational standards.
• Monitor daily sales, inventory, operational performance and wastage.
• Handle procurement, supplier coordination and ingredient replenishment.
• Identify opportunities to improve workflow, productivity and operational efficiency.

Beverage Production & R&D

• Support the development of new fermented beverages, seasonal flavours and products.
• Participate in product tastings, experimentation and recipe refinement.
• Maintain consistency across existing recipes, preparation methods and fermentation processes.
• Assist with production planning, batch records, quality control and SOP documentation.
• Coordinate production requirements for retail, bottled orders and brand activations.

Team Leadership

• Train, guide and supervise part-time and full-time team members.
• Ensure the team is knowledgeable about FERM’s products, ingredients and fermentation processes.
• Maintain consistent standards in customer experience and product preparation.
• Support onboarding, performance reviews and daily team communication.

Requirements

• Preferably 2 years or more of experience in F&B, specialty coffee, beverage operations or hospitality.
• Prior experience in a supervisory or team leadership role is preferred.
• Strong interest in beverages, fermentation, food science or culinary experimentation.
• Organised, dependable and comfortable taking ownership of store operations.
• Good communication, problem-solving and leadership skills.
• Willing to work hands-on across store operations and beverage production.
• Experience in beverage R&D, recipe development or fermentation is an advantage.
• Able to work weekends and public holidays according to the roster.
