Store Manager

We're partnering with Dayle ITM, one of New Zealand's most respected independent building merchants. Part of the ITM New Zealand Cooperative network and celebrating 50 years in business this year, Dayle ITM remains a true family-owned and operated business built on strong relationships, exceptional customer service, and looking after its people.

As the business continues to grow, we're looking to appoint an experienced Store Manager to lead the Kopu branch, servicing the Thames-Coromandel & Northern Waikato region. About the role:
  
Reporting to the Group Operations Manager, you'll take full responsibility for the overall performance of Dayle ITM's Kopu branch, leading a team of approximately nine staff while driving sales growth, operational excellence, and outstanding customer service.

• Lead, coach and develop a high performing branch team
• Drive sales growth, profitability and overall branch performance
• Build strong relationships with builders, contractors, suppliers and the local community throughout the Thames-Coromandel region
• Identify new business opportunities while growing existing customer relationships
• Oversee stock management, purchasing and branch operations
• Ensure exceptional customer service and a well-presented, efficient store
• Maintain strong health and safety standards across the site
• Work closely with the wider Dayle ITM leadership team to contribute to company-wide success

About you:
  
You're an experienced leader who thrives in a fast-paced trade environment - you enjoy balancing commercial performance with developing great people.

You'll also bring:

• Previous management experience within a building merchant, construction supplies or related trade environment.
• Strong commercial and financial acumen with the ability to drive branch performance.
• Proven experience leading, coaching and developing successful teams.
• Excellent relationship-building skills with customers, suppliers and staff.
• A passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• A practical, hands-on leadership style with a focus on accountability and continuous improvement.
• High levels of professionalism, integrity and a genuine team-first attitude.
