Store Manager

Overview

Ben & Jerry's University City is a locally owned scoop shop and catering business serving the UPenn campus and the greater Philadelphia region. We're part of a brand built on a three-part mission: great product, shared prosperity, and doing right by the community.

We're hiring an experienced Store Manager to run the shop day to day and lead our catering and offsite events. Know the job before you apply: catering requests can come in last minute, events happen evenings and weekends, and some days you'll be running an offsite event instead of the shop. If you need a fixed schedule, this role won't fit. This role requires a personal vehicle available for work.

Duties

• Daily store operations, standards, and customer experience
• Weekly scheduling to sales, labor targets, and timeclock discipline
• Inventory counts, par levels, ordering, and receiving
• Catering operations: capacity checks, prep, staffing, and quality
• Last-minute catering: decide what we can take on, then make it happen
• Offsite and concessions events: on-site lead from setup through reconciliation
• Food safety and inspection readiness every shift
• Hiring, training, coaching, and holding the team to standard
• Menu accuracy across the store, Olo, and delivery apps
• Store development: new items, promotions, better processes
• Regular meetings and communication with the owner on sales, labor, and priorities

Skills

• 5–10 years of food service or retail management
• Current ServSafe Manager certification
• Catering, events, or offsite operations experience
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and short notice
• Comfort with POS, scheduling software, and inventory math
• Organized, calm under pressure, direct with a team
• Valid driver's license required

Pay: $60,000.00 per year
